Dad came home today and is feeling tired, but definitely better than he did over the weekend. It appears that with each chemo treatment dad may end up back in the hospital towards the end of each chemo week. Now we know to expect it and it will be easier and less stressful for everyone.
We appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers... keep them coming!

Make sure Gary drinks! Dehydration is the most common cause for cancer patients to be admitted into the hospital. We had to push liquids on Mom. When you get dehydrated, your veins are harder to find, your body gets extremely weak, and the chemo doesn't excrete like it should. Eating really wasn't an issue with Mom. Liquids were more important.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a roller coaster of emotions for all involved. Family is a must. Family keeps you grounded. Family pulls you through. There will be good days as well as bad days. Stick together through everything.
Gary, if the doc has given you nausea medicine, TAKE IT! They really do help. I had set Mom up on a schedule so she could have medicine every 2hrs if needed. Most will make you sleepy, but rest during this time is a must. Your body needs time to heal itself as much as possible.
If you need anything, please let us know.
Prayers to you all!!
Love, Jenn
